Freddy "Fat Chops"

Friday, July 8, 2011 0
We lost a dear friend this week.   He was loved by everyone he met.  If this old dog could tell stories he would have hundreds of them.  He was always there at our feet.  I will miss reprimanding him for barking in the garage.  His bark was soooo loud.  I will miss his obnoxious howling in the middle of the night.  I will miss seeing his goofy face when I pull in the drive from a long day at work.  But most of all I will miss our golf cart trips around the farm.  The way we lifted him in the golf cart always made me crack a smile.  Sometime Freddy didn't smell so nice (he liked to roll around in anything that smelled nasty.)  To avoid getting the stench on us, we would hold one foot out, three or four inches off the ground.  He would use our foot as a step stool to get on the cart.  He loved this spot on the cart.  It was his domain.

Check out those massive feet.  And that tongue, oh my goodness he was a mess.  He loved to roll over on his back and beg for someone to rub his belly.  He was a great fishing buddy to some.  He made us laugh with his funny expressions, his personality was like no other.  The love of a bassett hound is awesome.  Our Fat Chops will be missed by so many people, especially this little guy.  RIP Fat Chops.  Love you!
